The job holder will be responsible for spearheading the provision of high quality demand lead services in knowledge and documentation management for IIRR clients and external partnership projects. This includes editing, re-writing and science simplification writing, proposal generation for publication work, planning for “writeshops” and facilitation responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Lead IIRR “writeshops” (participatory writing workshops organized to produce books, policy briefs, simplify scientific papers for clients and partners).
•Contribute to production of quality documents by the Applied Learning team. .
•Prepare reports for writeshops, IIRR managed conferences and learning forums and related assignments.
•Edit and brand training materials for current and new courses
•Oversee the writeshop planning processes and expenditure.
•Facilitate training workshops on writeshops processes, writing of proposals, cases, stories and reports.
•Generate new proposals for writeshops and prepare budgets.
•Collect, collate and analyze data useful in documenting learning experiences from the IIRR Learning Community Program to be used for IIRR information materials in the region,
•Play a lead role in preparing and disseminating a range of public information materials including newsletters, annual reports, brochures, flyers and website content.
•Provide appropriate guidance/support to consultants and staff in designing and production of IIRR training and communication materials.
•Maintain high editing and production of all external and internal documents.
•Participate in other Applied Learning related assignments.

•A master’s degree in development communication, journalism, or equivalent
•Five (5) years experience preferably in a development organization, in writing and editing.
•Good computer skills especially in desktop publishing, and website management.
•Originality innovation and creativity in design and packaging of information for communication.
•Facilitation/training skills.
•Good written and oral presentation skills.
•Experience in writing proposals
•Ability to work calmly under pressure and to beat deadlines.
Period of contract:Two (2) year renewable
