Job description
Participates in translation of the client's business requirements to define the structures of solutions and architectures and can include systems, applications, and process components. The Architect understands client needs, works in levels of abstraction, applies industry knowledge, and leverages appropriate business elements and information technology to address those needs. This includes working as a team member with client personnel to identify functional and non-functional requirements and subsequently working with or in some instances leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution.
Participates in a wide range of design activities, from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. This position requires knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures.
Knowledge Management: Global knowledge sharing and management is key to IBM's success. Will participate in, and/or be responsible for the creation, harvesting, protection, and reuse of IBM's intellectual capital. They will participate actively in knowledge sharing activities like communities of practice, forums, conferences and/or other knowledge exchanges.
Communication/Negotiation:
Advises other professionals (Project Managers, Architects and IT Specialists) in team on tools, technology and methodology related to the design and development of architectural solutions, and participates in evaluation and selection. May be asked to research special topics as part of team responsibilities.Works effectively with other team members to understand customer needs and to design, evaluate and develop architectural solutions which meet those needs. Guides and influences team members, including customer, vendor and subcontractor personnel, and IBMers to accomplish the team's technical and schedule goals.

Negotiates effectively with team members (vendors, subcontractors, customers and IBMers) to identify each member's role in solution design and development, agree on specific problem-solving, requirements analysis and design tasks and associated work products, and to define approaches for producing them.

Problem Solving:
Recognizes and articulates complex problems related to the solution being developed.

Applies creativity and judgment in development of multiple architectural solutions related to project objectives.

Analyses problems and creates solutions involving business, I/T technology, methodology, process, tools and solution components.

Regularly participates in overall functional planning.

Required

    Bachelor's Degree
    At least 2 years experience in Applying creativity and judgment in development of multiple architectural solutions related to project objectives.
    At least 2 years experience in Analysing problems and creating solutions involving business, I/T technology, methodology, process, tools and solution components
    At least 2 years experience in Excellent written and verbal communications skills and Demonstrated track record as a team player
    English: Fluent

   

Preferred

    Master's Degree
    At least 3 years experience in Applying creativity and judgment in development of multiple architectural solutions related to project objectives.
    At least 3 years experience in Analysing problems and creating solutions involving business, I/T technology, methodology, process, tools and solution components
    At least 3 years experience in Excellent written and verbal communications skills and Demonstrated track record as a team player
