Company Description
is a social venture that aims to build a sustainable sanitation network throughout Nairobi's slums, by creating a network of local entrepreneurs who run small-scale sanitation centers. It is our goal to provide affordable, accessible and hygienic sanitation services to individuals, thereby making a valuable contribution to their communities. We have launched our first toilets in Nairobi and plan to expand rapidly during the upcoming months.
Role & Responsibilities:
The objective of this role is to expand our franchise network, by identifying and selling our product to local entrepreneurs who are interested in pursuing this sanitation business opportunity.
The Area Sales Team Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales-related activities in the assigned area. As the Area Sales Team Manager you supervise, manage and coach the sales team and provide leadership towards the achievement of sales growth in line with company vision and goals. The candidate will be responsible for the complete sales cycle – from generating leads to closing deals.
Some key duties/responsibilities of the Area Sales Team Manager include:
Sales Management
* Takes an active role in the sales process from qualifying leads to closing the sale
* Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the assigned sales area
* Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets
* Designs record keeping processes and ensures its implementation
* Provides accurate forecasts and reports on activity and sales performance as and when required by management
* Monitors customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
* Maintains contact with clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
* Meets established sales targets, goals, and quotas
* Oversees the creation and implementation of sales material
Team Management
* Management of sales team on a day-to-day basis
* Responsible for the performance and development of the Sales Associates
* Participates in recruitment and selection of Sales Associates
* Conducts regular coaching and counselling with Sales Associates to build motivation and selling skills
Internal and external collaboration
* Work with consumer marketing team to maximise vertical expertise & knowledge sharing between the teams
* Coordinate with the training and operations teams to ensure a new franchisee’s smooth transition following each sale
* Liaise with other internal departments as required to ensure smooth running of all interactions that prospects have within Sanergy
Who we are looking for
* Extensive sales experience (ideally 4-8 years) – required
* Proven track record of achievement of targets – required
* Proven track record of managing and driving a sales team – required
* Ability to effectively communicate at all levels – required
* Ability to build relationships – required
* Strong team player – required
* Strong results orientation – required
* Fluent English and Kiswahili – required
* Good knowledge of Excel and Outlook, other MS Office applications useful – required
* Precision in your work, self-driven, proactive, passionate and positive – required
* University degree – desired
* Coaching skills – desired
* Ability to develop and manage consistent processes – desired
* Planning and organisational skills – desired
Availability
The Area Sales Team Manager will be expected to work a standard workweek of 45 hours and will occasionally be required to work in the evenings and on weekends.
