ADVANCED NURSING STUDIES PROGRAMME, (ANS) EAST AFRICA
AKUSON’s ANS programme was developed in consultation with the nursing councils and the Ministries of Health and Education of the governments of East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda), to improve the clinical practices and leadership skills of nurses working in the region. The programme provides career advancement opportunities for nurses generally and for women in particular. It is a collaborative endeavor, underpinned by a range of formal and informal partnerships with government and private hospitals, nursing leaders and local faculty in each country, as well as linkages with prestigious international organizations such as the Royal College of Nursing of the United Kingdom. This programme is now growing into a School of Nursing and Midwifery and therefore we seek senior faculty members who will be instrumental in moving this agenda forward.
