Overall Responsibilities

The Partnership Coordinator serves as the Institutional Strengthening Liaison between the project, APHIAplus and other collaborating agencies at the level of project implementation. Specific Responsibilities

Serve as the primary project liaison from MSH to APHIAplus and other collaborating partners at the community level
Facilitate the establishment of memoranda of understanding (MOU) with the relevant collaborating agencies and ensure that the MOU are implemented by all relevant parties
Work in close collaboration with the assigned focal persons of collaborating agencies and keep them informed at all times on FANIKISHA and respective partnership activities
Organize and conduct collaborative events including meetings
In conjunction with the FANIKISHA Institutional Strengthening Advisors, support collaborating agencies to establish institutional capacity strengthening needs and develop a plan for implementation
In conjunction with the FANIKISHA Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting and Learning, monitor and document the impact of FANIKISHA support to APHIAplus and other collaborating agencies and their affiliates in implementing their activities, including continuous reporting of results.

Qualifications

The Partnerships Coordinator will have a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in:
Project management of medium- to large-scale development projects that involve multiple implementing partners
Demonstrated successful engagement with governmental and nongovernmental stakeholders, preferably in Kenya
A minimum of 3 years of community-based field experience in organizational development and capacity-building, CSO advocacy and other relevant fields
An advanced graduate degree in a related field of study, such as public health and project planning and management
Proven leadership in participatory partnership engagement, including negotiation and building consensus, partner support, capacity-building and problem-solving
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills in English, conflict resolution, reporting and management
Strong attention to detail and follow-through, with demonstrated experience in managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously within expected timeframes
Working knowledge of the Kenyan public health and civil society sectors and contexts
Good knowledge of the APHIAplus and/or other USAID-funded community health projects in Kenya is highly desirable

Overall Responsibilities

Serving as staff of the Leadership, Management and Sustainability Project in Kenya (LMS/Kenya), the Leadership, Management and Governance (LMG) Project Advisor will collaborate with the Kenya AIDS, Population and Health Integrated Assistance plus Project (APHIAplus) to strengthen APHIAplus and Health Sector LMG capacity within one of the five zones in which APHIAplus has a presence (Coast/Nairobi, Central/Eastern, Western/Nyanza, Rift Valley and Northern Arid Lands). The Advisor will work with APHIAplus staff to develop leading and managing skills among health sector managers; build skills in systems management, including, but not limited to human resources, finance, and communications; reinforce supervision and mentoring skills and process improvement at the district level; improve planning skills and oversight of the planning process; and strengthen governance structures and roles in the health sector. As a result of the LMS/Kenya–APHIAplus collaboration, it is expected that managers at all levels of the health system will have strengthened leadership, management, and governance knowledge and skills to effectively manage their programs and facilities to achieve greater health outcomes in a changing health system environment. Additionally, APHIAplus staff will have the skills and hands-on experience with LMG tools and approaches to integrate these into their ongoing work.
Specific Responsibilities

As the LMG Regional Advisor, the main responsibilities of this position include:

1) Enhance “on the ground” collaboration between LMS/Kenya and APHIAplus to identify LMG priorities in the assigned region



2) Provide technical assistance to the health sector (public, private, and faith-based) to respond to these needs and/or identify technical assistance requirements to be filled by LMS/Kenya staff and consultants



3) Build the capacity of APHIAplus to integrate responses to these LMG needs into their ongoing work, in collaboration with other LMS/Kenya staff



4) Link with the national level LMS/Kenya staff to support the regional work of LMS/Kenya national-level initiatives including work in priority hospital reforms, training in health systems management, leadership development program support, supporting teams and individuals going through online learning programs, etc.



5) In collaboration with the national level LMS/Kenya Communications staff, identify best and promising practices in leadership, management and governance for documentation, sharing and scale up



6) Perform other duties as may be assigned



This position will report to an LMS/Kenya National Coordinator as well as the zonal APHIAplus Director.


Qualifications

1) Minimum of a master's level education in public health, international development, organizational development, public administration, management, social sciences or a related field



2) Minimum of 5 years overall work experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience in capacity development, program management, and health systems strengthening



3) Knowledge of and experience in management and health systems capacity development and monitoring and supervision in Kenya desirable



4) Proven experience providing technical assistance to public health programs or projects



5) Demonstrated organizational, managerial and supervisory skills and abilities; sound judgment, and high ethical standards; flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines



6) Fluency in English and Kiswahili is required.



7) Strong initiative and self-motivation highly required



8) Computer literacy with competence in Word , Excel, and PowerPoint is mandatory

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, the job holder will support the Public Relations Manager to ensure favorable image for the company.

Key responsibilities:

Monitor the media and collate any information that impacts on company’s reputation;
Draft Press Releases and other collaterals for the communication department;
Prepare follow up and tracking reports to gauge public perception;
Assist the PR Manager to set up meetings and activities to enhance company image;
Provide general communications assistance to the Public Relations Manager including support to the Social media manager, stakeholder engagement, internet and web, internal communications and communications planning;
To collect/receive and communicate information that may give Safaricom strategic advantage over it’s competitors;
Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, periodic reports within schedule and to standards;
Create and administer a proper filing system for the PR and Sponsorships section.

Minimum Requirements:

A Degree in Marketing and Communication/Public Relations/ Marketing (Specialization in PR);
A post-graduate diploma in Public Relations would be an added advantage;
1-2 years work experience in a large or blue chip Company in a PR Role/Media Relations role;
The must be a driven and motivated, can-do, team-player, must be able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills in both English and Swahili;
Excellent Speech and Writing Skills.
